We appreciate all the filmmakers for submitting their works. The 2nd edition of the festival is set to kick off from the 29th of October to 31st at Lagos, Nigeria.

With the theme ‘Our Voice. Story and Identity”, the festival will reawaken the consciousness among African filmmakers and industry stakeholders on the need to explore other forms of storytelling deeply rooted in African culture and tradition.

The events lined up for the festival include, Free Film Screenings, Masterclasses, Panel Discussions, Workshops, Award Presentations and Afroween Party.

Highlights of the 2nd edition of the Africa International Horror Film Festival also include the recognition of African filmmakers, including living and posthumous legends, whose resilience accelerated the growth of the African horror film genre.

All African and International Filmmakers/Storytellers are invited to register for our virtual masterclass, “Telling an African Horror Story”

African Horror is a literary genre in its own right, a sub-genre of horror that has existed for centuries. It encompasses several horror sub-genres like supernatural horror, psychological horror, demonic/occultic horror, sci-fi horror, paranormal romance.

Africa International Horror Film Festival 2022, Call for Submissions

The Africa International Horror Film Festival is an annual event committed to reviving the African horror cinema by promoting and celebrating the works of African and International independent horror filmmakers. Our first edition had over 3,000 submissions from filmmakers all around the world.

We are now accepting submissions for its second edition. The submission portal opened on the 5th of February and will run through to 31st August, 2022.
